Mogwase: A 30-year-old man, Nkosinathi Ziyanda Khumalo, is set to make his second court appearance at the Mogwase Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 24 November 2025, for a bail application. The accused first appeared in court on 3 November 2025, charged with murder.
According to South African Police Service, Khumalo was apprehended by the Provincial and National Psychology Investigation Unit on 30 October 2025 in Estcourt, KwaZulu-Natal. His arrest followed an intensive investigation into a muti-related murder that allegedly took place in July in Maologane village, within the Sun City policing precinct. Reports indicate that Khumalo is accused of murdering Innocent Buthelezi and mutilating his body by cutting off his fingertips and private parts.
During Khumalo’s arrest, he was found in possession of the deceased’s firearm and eight rounds of ammunition. Consequently, he appeared before the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on 31 October 2025, facing charges of possessing an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Following this, Khumalo was transferred to the province to appear in the Mogwase Magistrate’s Court.
