Twenty two suspects arrested and three firearms recovered as police continue to clean Johannesburg CBD

Police have arrested twenty two suspects aged between 26 and 40 in Johannesburg CBD and Tembisa on Tuesday 12 March 2019. Six suspects were arrested in Tembisa for business robbery and three unlicensed firearms were recovered. In Johannesburg two suspects were arrested for possession of drugs, three for fraud and five for dealing in dagga and four undocumented persons were arrested.

The Provincial Commissioner of the police in Gauteng, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela, welcome the 15 years direct imprisonment of Miguel Moffat by Johannesburg Regional Court yesterday. Moffat was arrested on 25 October 2018 in Eldorado Park during the observation of the car hijackers. During his arrest, two motor vehicles were recovered.

Police will continue to clampdown on criminals in and around Gauteng.

The arrested suspects will be appearing at Johannesburg and Kempton Park Magistrate Courts on Wednesday 13 March 2019.
