Police recover stolen vehicle, suspect nabbed

Potchefstroom: As part of reducing the level of property related crime, Brits Operational Coordination Centre members recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested a 37-year-old suspect for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle and theft on Saturday, 02 December 2017 in Klipgat.

The police were on a patrol at about 14:30 when they got information that a Ford Courier bakkie was stolen at Ke Ya Rona Mall at Bapong. During the patrol at Klipgat, they spotted the vehicle that was reported to have been stolen. They tried to stop it, but the driver allegedly accelerated and that led to a car chase.

The vehicle was successfully stopped at Ndlovu Section, Clipart where the suspect who stays in Mabopane, was arrested. He is expected to appear in the Brits Magistrates' Court on Monday, 04 December 2017.
