Man arrested for dealing in dagga

NORTHERN CAPE-A 30-year-old is expected to appear before Deben Magistrate's Court today following his arrest subsequent to be found in possession of dagga. His arrest came after the police received a tip-off regarding a man in possession of dagga walking in the streets of Deben. Police reacted promptly to the information and spotted the suspect walking in the street carrying a bag. Upon search and investigation, dagga weighing 3kg with an estimated street value of R12 000 was found packed inside the bag.

The suspect is facing a count of dealing in dagga.

The Cluster Commander of the John Taolo Gaetsewe, Major General Johan Bean applauded community members for their continuous zeal to fight against crime within neighbourhoods. He said communities have power to eradicate drug related crimes, drug dealers should not have operational space among communities.
