The Police in Groblersdal have embarked on a community outreach campaign at Barlow Street next to Oasis.
Community members were alerted about kidnapping and the danger of hitch hiking. They were given safety tips concerning crime and abuse.
The outreach proceeded to Van Riebeck Street next to Capitec bank. People were alerted about theft out of motor vehicles. They were also advised not to carry large amount of cash around rather opt to electronic transactions.
Hawkers were urged to assist the police with information because normally crime happens under their watch. Stores were also visited. The aim was to pass the safety messages to shop owners so that they can also share their customers about crime and to have good relationship with the police.
Pamphlets were distributed.
