Postmasburg FLASH execute project reject and report stolen goods

NORTHERN CAPE - Postmasburg SAPS in conjunction with Provincial FLASH, Provincial Corporate Communication, Danielskuil and Lime Acres SAPS embarked on a 3-day awareness campaign in Postmasburg and Danielskuil.

The Postmasburg FLASH officer, Sergeant Karlien Nel initiated the project in conjunction with external role players including Transnet, Telkom and local mines.

The aim of the project is to highlight the increase in the cases of copper theft in and around the local mining areas.

The focus on the awareness campaign at the mines is to make employees aware that being in possession of copper cables and any stolen items is an offence and that it is imperative that they reject and report stolen items at all cost.

Amongst the focus of the project under the Operation Vhuthu Hawe is compliance inspections at all scrap metal dealers and second hand goods dealers.

The project commenced on Tuesday, 12 April 2022 at Danielskuil and will conclude on 14 April 2022.

Numerous activities have been conducted and will continue for the duration of the project.
