“A great moment for Ethiopia as the BRICS leaders endorses our entry into this group today. Ethiopia stands ready to cooperate with all for an inclusive and prosperous global order,” the premier said on Face-Book.
As Ethiopia has been a member and founder of many international institutions, it will continue to work with international institutions that can protect its interests, it is indicated.
The role of BRICS in the global economy is increasing as about 41 percent of the world population is now living in BRICS countries, and the amount of production in BRICS countries has reached 37 percent of world production.
The endorsement would be a great thing for Ethiopia that could open new markets and opportunities for trade and investment in the emerging-markets bloc of BRICS.
