SAPS Temba in collaboration with TMPD swiftly arrest two suspects and recover unlicensed firearms with ammunition during an intelligence-driven operation

PARKTOWN - Last night, 15 February 2022 members of SAPS Temba arrested two suspects found in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

The SAPS members were joined by officials of Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD). The team swiftly operationalised information on suspicious activity in the area of Eersterust, north of Pretoria.

According to a preliminary report the suspects allegedly rented a premises in Eersterust and the team proceeded to this address. A search was conducted which led the members to recover three unlicensed firearms with ammunition; two pistols and one revolver.

The firearms will be subjected to ballistic tests to determine whether it may be linked to other crimes committed.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Moretele Magistrates' Court soon facing charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
