POLOKWANE – In accelerated efforts to clamp down on crime, the Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe allocated high performance motorbikes to dedicated officers from various Police Stations across the province.
The members will ultimately form part of the development of a Motor Cycle Unit in the Province, which will increase effectiveness of Police during the pursuit of suspects.
Four new BMW RT 1250 motor bikes have been purchased for use in various SAPS operational actions which include the following:
Visible Policing (Vispol) operations;
During crime prevention Imbizos;
To be utilized for high way patrols during holidays seasons.
Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe said that these motor bikes will assist our members through special assignments, targeted patrols and; increase overall flexibity and maneuverability. She further urged members to use the motorbikes for their intended purpose to enable the Police make significant progress in the fight against crime.
