More boots on the ground prevent drugs circulation

TSEKI - The Public Order Police Unit team has arrested two suspects allegedly for dealing in dagga following a stop and search which led them to seize more dagga and large amount of cash.

On Thursday, 12 January 2023 Public Order Police Unit were officially on duty conducting a self-initiative driven information on dagga at Tseki-Bolata Villages. Whilst on patrol, they stopped a male who acted suspicious when he noticed police presence. The person was stopped and searched. Upon searching him, police found plastic in his possession containing dagga.

His arrest led team members to a certain house where a thorough search led to the recovery of large packages of dagga placed all over the house. The owner took responsibility for the consignment. The dagga to an estimated street value of R60 000 and money was confiscated and two suspects were arrested. Both suspects are from KwaZulu-Natal Province. A case of dealing in dagga has been opened.

The two suspects are expected to appear before Tseki Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 13 January 2023 facing a charge of dealing in dagga.
