Man allegedly commits suicide at Ongolo village


Keetmanshoop: A 55 – year – old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a mopane tree at Ongolo village in the Omusati Region on Saturday . A weekend crime report issued on Sunday by Namibian Police Force ( NamPol ) spokesperson , Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi , said the deceased has been identified as Josua Kleopas , and his next of kin have been informed of his death . Kleopas ‘ s body was discovered by his wife around 23h20 on Saturday in the village fields . The police suspect no foul play , and no suicide note was found . In a separate incident , a 34 – year – old Angolan national and cattle herder allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree with a steel wire at Onaayamba village in the Oshikoto Region . His body was discovered by a passerby around 08h00 on Saturday . The police also do not suspect foul play , and no suicide note was found . In another case , a 56 – year – old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope in his sleeping quarters at O
mujeve Hunting Safaris in the Khomas Region on Friday at around 09h00 on Saturday . The report noted that the man was a farm worker . No suicide note was found , and the police do not suspect foul play . The next of kin of both the 56 – year – old man and the 34 – year – old man have not yet been informed of their deaths . At Omulungu in the Kavango West Region , it is alleged that a 24 – year – old man attempted suicide around 16h00 on Friday . He was found with a rope around his neck in the bushes by a member of the public , who cut the rope and alerted the police . The report added that the man was taken to hospital . In another matter , two men aged 17 and 19 , are expected to appear in the Katutura Magistrate ‘ s Court on Monday after allegedly being found in possession of 1 000 grams of cannabis valued at N . dollars 50 000 . They were arrested at the Windhoek – Okahandja road traffic checkpoint on Friday afternoon after a police search . Meanwhile , police at Groot Aub are still looking for the suspect
( s ) who allegedly slaughtered cattle valued at N . dollars 20 000 at Farm Aris without the owner ‘ s consent on Friday at around 01h00 . Police investigations continue .
