Addis Ababa, Minister of Industry, Melaku Alebel stated that all the necessary support is being provided to investors who are engaged in multiple areas of the manufacturing sector through building their production capacity and productivity.
Higher government officials including the Minister of Industry and officials of Oromia Regional State visited Woda Industry Park located at Sheger City, Oromia Region.
The higher officials visited manufacturing investments activities in the industry park and discussed over the need for products expansion area requested by the park.
Speaking on the occasion, Melaku Alebel, Minister of Industry said that necessary support and capacity building is being provided to investors engaged in the manufacturing sector.
The government is working on ways to enhancing the product and productivity of investors engaged in manufacturing industry, the minister added.
He stressed that all kinds of support is being provided to those engaged in various sub sectors of the manufacturing industries.
The minister stated that based on the Home Grown Economic Reform program, efforts are underway to enhance import substitution and promotion of exports.
Vice President of Oromia Regional State, Awelu Abdi, confirmed that the regional state is ready to provide every support for those entrepreneurs engaged in the manufacturing sector.
He added that requests forwarded regarding expansion areas will be addressed through proper assessment.
State Minister of Industry, Tarekegne Bululta remarked that the purpose of the working visit paid to the park was to assess the accomplishments made so far and to seek solutions to possible challenges that the investors face.
At the peak of its performance, the park is expected to provide employment opportunities for 10,000 persons.
Woda Industrial Park is a leading provider of rental shades for industries in a variety of sectors, including automotive, home electricity, rubber, power, and communication equipment.
