Suspects arrested for dealing in dagga

On Monday 28 March 2022 members of K9 Unit Bloemfontein arrested two males for dealing in dagga in Grassland Phase 2 near Bloemfontein. The members were patrolling identified drug posts in Bloemspruit police station area when they received information of a house where dagga is sold at. The members visited the address and knocked at the room described in the information.

Two males opened the door and the police explained the purpose of their visit and asked for permission to search the room; permission was granted. A red bag hidden in the room was searched and two packages of compressed dried dagga leaves were found.

The team interrogated the two suspects and they gave full cooperation to the police. The suspects voluntarily led the police to a shack dwelling in Khayelitsha which they used as store room. Another 12 packages of compressed dagga and twenty litres container full of dagga were found stored in the shack.

The two suspects aged 28 and 32 years were then arrested. The suspects are detained in police custody and they will appear in Bloemfontein Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 30 March 2022.
