Government Unveils Key Events for Mid-November 2024.


Johannesburg: The South African government has announced a series of significant events scheduled for the week of 11 to 15 November 2024. These events are set to address various sectors, ranging from education and mineral resources to labor statistics and border management.

According to South African Government News Agency, the week will kick off on Monday, 11 November, with the Department of Basic Education hosting the Partnerships for Education Business Breakfast. This event, taking place at the Wanderers Club in Johannesburg, will be led by the Minister of Basic Education, Siviwe Gwarube. The event aims to foster collaboration between educational stakeholders and the business community.

Also on Monday, the Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, Gwede Mantashe, is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the Mintek 90 Conference. The conference, held at the Sandton Convention Centre, will run over two days, providing a platform for discussions on advancements and challenges in the mineral and petro
leum sectors.

The week continues with Statistics South Africa set to release the Quarterly Labour Force Survey results for the third quarter of 2024. The results will be announced at a media briefing in Tshwane on Tuesday, 12 November, offering insights into the country’s employment trends and economic health.

On Wednesday, 13 November, attention will shift to the 2024 Border Management Conference and Expo at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria. This event will bring together experts and officials to discuss strategies and technologies for effective border management.

No confirmed government activities are scheduled for Thursday, 14 November, and Friday, 15 November, providing a brief intermission in the otherwise eventful week.
